Matt began his career in sport in Dublin within the area of personal training and strength and conditioning. In 2004 Matt moved to the UK and completed his BSc Hons in Sports Therapy, graduating in 2009 from the University of Teesside. Matt returned to Dublin and after a successful year of teaching and clinic work he then went on to peruse an MSc in Physiotherapy at Teesside once again, graduating with distinction.

Matt is a member of the Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports & Exercise Medicine (ACPSEM).

Since qualifying he has built a wide range of physiotherapy experience both in the NHS specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients and the private sector. Matt has also spent time with Middlesbrough Football Club and other sports injury and conditioning clinics associated with Teesside University, Middlesbrough ladies FC and Teesside’s FA Girls Football Academy.

His passion for sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation became apparent when he became a member of the reserve defence forces in Ireland (1999) and joined a field medical unit, to which he spent 4 years.

Matt is always striving to push the boundaries of rehabilitation and brings with him, his previous experience of strength and conditioning and sports back ground into the clinic to give his clients the best possible chance of recovery and ensure their return to sport and or work. Matt has taken the exciting opportunity to focus his private physiotherapy here with us at 21st Century Clinic where he will be able to provide top quality care for a wide variety of patients.
